The Substack app is not playing well with lots of photos, so I'm going to try doing more, shorter posts.

Our hotel in Fes was quite fabulous.

We were welcomed with tea and cookies while the staff entered our passport information and transported out luggage to the room.

Our room was not as pretty as in Chefchaouen, but it did have sliding doors between our bed and Alice's, was well as two separate bathrooms.

That evening we decided to have dinner in the hotel’s lovely courtyard. Between sets by a very talented oud (traditional Moroccan stringed instrument) we enjoyed the sound of the fountain while we enjoyed our meal.

They offered Traditional Moroccan and International menus and we chose some from each.

A selection of traditional deep fried pastries filled with meat, roasted vegetables, or--my favorite--goat cheese.

Burrata salad with tomatoes and peaches.

Spanish garlic shrimp with lime.

Grilled whole sea bass.

Shrimp tagine.

John Dory fillet with saffron risotto.x

Warm apple tart with ice cream.

Incredible pistachio ice cream.

We also enjoyed a dip in the pool up on the roof terrace after a long day of touristing.

Altogether, a really lovely and comfortable place to stay!
